It’s not always convenient to have your Amazon parcels shipped at home. Whether you’re not generally at home when deliveries come or you want to surprise a family member with a gift, there are many reasons to use an Amazon Locker instead.

Amazon lockers have become ubiquitous all around the world. In the U.S., they are available in more than 900 cities, and you can expect to find them in most major cities in all countries where Amazon delivers.

Amazon lockers are self-service kiosks that are conveniently located inside grocery stores, malls, and apartment buildings. They allow you to pick up your package at a time that’s convenient for you, and many locations that host the lockers are open 24/7.

How do Amazon lockers work?

To have a parcel shipped to an Amazon locker, all you have to add a locker to your Amazon address book and then select that location as the shipping address when you complete the checkout.

When your parcel is ready for pickup, you’ll receive an email with a unique 6-digit code. You’ll need this code to remove the parcel from the designated slot in the locker.

If you’re a Prime member, you’ll be able to enjoy FREE Two-Day, One-Day and Same-Day Shipping. For shoppers who are not Prime members, there are no additional costs to have the items shipped to an Amazon locker.

The lockers can also be used for returns, and the good news is that you can drop items you want to return to any locker you want, no matter where the parcel was originally delivered.
